Founded in 1908 by the Vilaseca family, it was originally a neighborhood confectionery. Later it was converted into the Colmado Quilez that we continue to glimpse today. In 1940, Don Julián Quílez faithfully continued with the work, gaining well-deserved fame throughout Barcelona.
Since 1974, Colmado Quilez belongs to the LAFUENTE group, which has not wanted to change the air in the store, trying to maintain that commitment so difficult to achieve, which is to maintain the atmosphere and image of yesteryear with the need to always be first line in the world of distribution.
Colmado Quilez therefore differs from its growing competitors by the personalized and friendly treatment of its 10 employees. But without a doubt, one of its hallmarks is the huge 40-meter façade, or its 16 shop windows and sideboards, in one of the most central corners of the city.

His charisma and personality have led him to obtain from the Barcelona City Council a commemorative plaque framed in the “handsome forever” program in recognition of his work.
